An international, Bible-centered children’s and youth ministry with weekly clubs, programs and training for students in preschool through sixth grade. Our goal is to reach kids, and their families, with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. At Arbor we have 3 clubs, Cubbies, Sparks and Truth & Training that meet each Wednesday from 5:50p.m. – 7:30p.m. CUBBIES: Potty-trained preschoolers, Minimum age 3, 2 year program prior to entering Kindergarten Cubbies will enjoy games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities each night in AWANA as they go on a thrilling journey through God’s Word. The will learn key basic truths about God, Jesus, salvation and the Bible. SPARKS: K through 2nd Grade Sparks club meetings combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement for churched and unchurched kids alike. Sparks spend time on their handbooks, have a Bible lesson and have game time each week. TRUTH & TRAINING CLUB: 3rd through 6th Grade The T&T program has four handbooks called The Ultimate Adventure Series. Clubbers progress through these levels at their own pace. The kids start their night off with game time, then go into our classroom to work on their handbooks, have a lesson and spend time in prayer. For more information, please contact the church office. Anybody Can Memorize Potty-trained preschoolers, Minimum age 3, 2 year program prior to entering Kindergarten The AWANA club for preschoolers (ages 3-4) meets the spiritual needs of young children through fun (crafts, games, awards), friendly characters and leaders, foundational teaching and family involvement (parents working with children to memorize a weekly scripture verse). Preschoolers can hardly wait for their next Cubbies club meeting. Whether it’s the fun puppets, the games or all their “Cubbies friends,” they simply love it. At Story Time each week, preschoolers learn about God – the greatness of His love and His Word – and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior. Non-competitive games build excitement and reinforce Story Time lesson themes. Cubbies helps you lead your child to God early so she will respect and trust Him for life. Club meetings combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement for churched and unchurched kids alike. Sparks spend time on their handbooks, have a Bible lesson and have game time each week. Sparks aims to take youngsters a step deeper into God’s Word while giving boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ. The club has all the elements of fun and excitement through the Bible story time and AWANA game circle. Sparks is the highlight of the week for many of the kids. They love their red vests, the exciting games and spending time with leaders and friends. Sparks is divided into three years, each with a unique rank: HangGlider®, WingRunner® and SkyStormer™. Each year, Sparks clubbers: • explore the biographies of people of the Bible from a new portion of Scripture • memorize Bible verses • complete handbook activities The AWANA club for boys and girls in 3rd through 6th grade reflects the passion of AWANA to teach this group the truth of God’s word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. The T&T program has four handbooks called The Ultimate Adventure/Challenge Series. Clubbers progress through these levels at their own pace. The kids start their night off with game time and then go into our classroom to work on their handbooks, have a lesson and spend time in prayer. Handbooks and large-group lessons deepen a child’s knowledge about God and His Word and teach how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life. T&T club is designed to help kids stay plugged into church as they move into the preteen years and continue growing in their relationship with Christ. The kids are exposed to the gospel message, Scripture memory, Bible study, awards, team-oriented games and lots of fun!
